On March 4, the Department of Automation, Metrology and Energy-Efficient Technologies held a curatorial hour dedicated to International Women's Day. The event aimed not only to familiarize students with the history of this date, but also to promote respect for the principles of equality, dignity and human rights.
The curator (Natalya Antonenko) gave a brief historical background, in which she outlined the prerequisites for the emergence of the holiday, its socio-political significance and transformation over time - from movements for women's labor rights to the modern understanding of gender equality as an important component of a democratic society. Attention was focused on the role of women in the development of science, technology, education and other areas of public life, in particular in the fields related to engineering and energy.
As part of the curatorial hour, the applicants were shown the video "Women's Day - Where the holiday came from: March 8 (History of the holiday)", which clearly revealed historical facts and interesting aspects of the formation of this date in the world. After watching, a discussion took place, during which students had the opportunity to express their own thoughts on the meaning of this day today, share their vision of the role of women in modern society and the importance of ensuring equal opportunities for all. Summing up the event, it is worth noting that the curatorial hour contributed to the expansion of the worldview of applicants for education, the formation of social consciousness and respect for human rights and freedoms. Such events are an important component of the educational work of the department, because they help to combine the professional training of future specialists with the upbringing of an active, responsible and tolerant personality.
