Each year on 14 October, the members of the IEC, ISO and ITU celebrate World Standards Day, which is a means of paying tribute to the collaborative efforts of the thousands of experts worldwide who develop the voluntary technical agreements that are published as international standards.

Every year the holidays pass under a certain motto. In 2016, the motto - "Standards create trust"

October 8, 1901 Dmitry Mendeleev initiated the establishment and opening of the first tents for checking in Kharkov. It reconciled and made branding weights and trade measures. The 101 th anniversary of this event, as well as extended to workers in this sector contribute to the state economy and the presidential decree was issued. The date of the festival decided to define 2 days later and was appointed for 10 October.
Day of Standardization and Metrology in Ukraine celebrate employees who control measuring equipment and oversee production quality, set standards for an exact match of manufactured goods, process and service provided to their purpose. This metrology (verification officers) standardizer, engineers, and many others, who are involved in this field.

Students and teachers of the Department 4.10.16 visited the private gallery "AVEC", which is currently undergoing a unique exhibition " Friends Image", which presents masterpieces of bronze animalistic. The main and, in fact, the only hero of the exhibition is a dog - a symbol of loyalty and devotion.

17.06.2016 was a meeting between of graduates Group ДМТ-Бж6-1. Graduates recalled with a smile of cheerful and unforgettable student years, favorite teachers and interesting lectures, lives in the dormitory. Bright moments of the meeting were recorded in photographs.

In Academy summed up results of the contest "Best site of the Ukrainian Engineering and Pedagogical Academy". The Commission considered 28 sites subdivisions Academy, of which 18 - departments sites, 7 - faculties and institutes, 2 - site of students and site training center for foreign nationals and came to the conclusion that the winners are the following sites:
1. The first place - the site of the Department of Labour Safety, Standardization and Certification (kafotss.kharkov.ua).
2. Second place - website of the Department of Integrated Technologies in Mechanical Engineering and Welding Production (itmzv.uipa.edu.ua).
3. Third place - the site of the Department of Pedagogics and Professional Training Methodology (pmpn.uipa.edu.ua).
The grand prize of this contest - HP printer went to the Department of Labour Safety, Standardization and Certification. Congratulations to all of the department with a victory in this contest!

By World Day of quitting the Department of labour safety, standardization and certification, was held the annual event dedicated to the fight against smoking under the slogan "I do not smoke, and you do not advise it." During the event held cigarettes exchange for 2 candy on the big break near the smoking areas. After the campaign, all cigarettes are disposed of.

Today in UEPA passed training on the organization of actions in case of fire or emergency. The exercise was attended by units of the fire and rescue service Shevchenko area of Kharkov, students, faculty and staff academy.
The exercises were used tanker, fire motor ladder, rescue vehicle and the separation of the voluntary fire brigade academy.

World Metrology Day - the international professional holiday. It marked on 20 May. Established by the International Committee for Weights and Measures (CIPM) in October 1999, at the 88th meeting of the Committee. The motto of the World Metrology Day 2016 - "The measurements in a dynamic world."

April 28 the World Day for Safety and Health at Work round table "Stress in the workplace: a collective challenge." Welcoming remarks were made by experienced teachers, who worked for many years in the department, they were awarded diplomas for contribution to the development of the Department of Labour Safety, Standardization and Certification. The best students and winners of all-Ukrainian contest of scientific works and occupational safety competition were awarded with diplomas and pleasant gifts.
